- You must have an open heart to God to see Him in others. It is important to prepare a place for other people in your life and make them happy - said Fr. Janusz Kumala, MIC, custodian of the Lichen sanctuary on October 4 during the Sunday sum attended by approx. pilgrims on the Day of Prayer of Single People Seeking a Husband or Wife.
On the first Sunday of October, those gathered in the Lichen basilica also prayed for all the spouses to overcome the crises that appeared on their way. The custodian of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lichen, welcoming the pilgrims, recalled that the Eucharist is a sign of God's love, and therefore he encouraged them to respond to this love, to receive the sacrament of penance and reconciliation, and at the same time to fully participate in the Holy Mass. During the pilgrimage to Licheń in 1999, St. John Paul II admitted that the Marian sanctuary is "the place where Mary comes". - The Holy Father meant that in this holy place, Mary, Patroness of family happiness, comes to meet us, like a concerned Mother. St. In his letter to the Philippians, Paul wrote, "Worry no more"! The key to not worrying is a trusting relationship with God, said the curator. He added that the only thing that can worry us is sin, which leads to spiritual necrosis.
In the Licheń sanctuary, Mary constantly calls for penance and conversion, and this is a chance to start a new way in life. - Opening the heart to God is an experience of inner peace - the curator of the Lichen sanctuary explained that this was the first step in the search for a wife or husband and the realization of the vocation to married life. It is important to open up to God and man at the same time. Give up selfishness and expect the other person to make you happy. Make room in your heart and make your other half happy, to be associated with them for life. - It is possible when Jesus comes to me every day, which is why it is so important to care for the beauty of the heart. Pray that each husband will be aware that God has given him the best wife and that the wife will know that she has the best husband. This does not mean that there will be no worries on their common path, but all must be given to God - explained Fr. Kumala.
At the end of the Mass were solemnly consecrated rosaries, which were later distributed to pilgrims.
Midday Mass The Choir of the Licheń Basilica "Stabat Mater" graced the stage, and after the Eucharist, its inaugural concert took place. The concert was performed by the "Stabat Mater" Choir conducted by Jacek Hyżny along with the soloists: Anita Furgol-Kownacka (soprano) and Ewa Budzińska (soprano) and Andrzej Chorosiński (organ), professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and creator of the sound concept of the organ in the basilica lichen. Pilgrims had the opportunity to hear, among others works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Cesar Franck or Jan Henryk Botor.
