Holy Week at the Licheń Shrine

According to the order of the state authorities, from March 27, no more than 350 people may participate in the liturgy in the upper basilica at the same time, in addition to the celebrating priests and ministers. There is also a rule to keep the right distance between each other, i.e. at least one and a half meters, and to cover the nose and mouth with a mask. There are containers with disinfectant liquid at the entrances to the basilica.

On Holy Thursday, the Mass of the Lord's Supper in the basilica at 18.00. After the end of the Mass. there will be no transfer of the Blessed Sacrament to the so-called Darkhouse, but remains in the tabernacle. Individual prayer and adoration until 22.00.

On Good Friday, the liturgy in honor of the Lord's Passion at 6.00 p.m. (no Mass is celebrated on this day), followed by the transfer of the Blessed Sacrament to the Holy Sepulcher, which will be located in the basilica on the left in the nave of the Holy Cross.

On Holy Saturday, the Liturgy of the Easter Vigil will begin at 8.00 p.m., without the ritual of blessing the fire. There will also be no resurrection procession.

The blessing of food for the Easter table on Holy Saturday will take place outside the Church of St. Dorota and in designated points of the parish (also in the open air), in compliance with sanitary standards.

On Sunday of the Lord's Resurrection, Masses in the basilica at 6.00, 7.30, 10.00, 12.00, 16.00 and 18.00. At each mass, the number of participants is limited to 350 people.

Confession in the nave of the basilica on Holy Thursday from 11.00 to 18.00, Good Friday and Holy Saturday from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.

In the church in Grąblin, services on Holy Thursday and Good Friday at 17.30, and on Holy Saturday at 19.30. The number of the faithful participating in the liturgy (apart from the sisters) is limited to 25 people.

During Holy Masses, the faithful have the opportunity to receive Holy Communion. in the mouth or on the hand, in accordance with the guidelines of the Polish Episcopate. Fr. The curator encourages participation in the Holy Week services and asks for understanding and cooperation in observing sanitary standards. For those who, for various reasons, will not be able to participate, there is a possibility of spiritual connection through the social media of the sanctuary.
