On today's celebration of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, the Act of Dedication of the Human Family to Christ the King was renewed at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Licheń. It is also a patronal feast of the liturgical service of the altar.
During the Holy Mass at 12.00 celebrated in front of the miraculous image of Our Lady of Lichen, Fr. Janusz Kumala, MIC, the curator of the lichen sanctuary, encouraged us to look at Jesus Christ as the King - not only of the universe, but also the king of our heart. He indicated three attitudes that we should follow in our Christian life. The first is the attitude of a conscious choice of Jesus Christ as the King of our lives.
- “You can accept Jesus Christ as King. This is accomplished in us through baptism, because then we make a covenant with Him. From that moment on, we are part of his reign. However, it is also necessary to consciously choose Jesus as King. It is done through our conversion, through a conscious decision to choose Christ as the King of our lives. "
The second attitude, in the opinion of the curator, that characterizes someone who chose Christ as King is the attitude of listening.
- “The question that arises is: who am I listening to? Is Christ my King or someone else? Therefore, we must look carefully and prudently on our life, and also on the One who has the word of life - Jesus Christ. Only his word can show the right way, enlighten us in times of doubt, in the darkness, only it can strengthen us ”.
The service attitude was indicated as the third one. - “Toward Jesus, one should assume the attitude of a servant. How? Seeing Him in other people, through caring for your neighbor. Our King, Jesus Christ, is present in the deceived, lost and in search. We can look at immigrants who are looking for a safe place on earth. I do not only think about those who are on the Polish-Belarusian border today, but about the millions of others who suffer persecution around the world. We need to look not through the eyes of politicians, but through the eyes of those who seek help. The needy person is the one who needs and seeks love. If I want to serve another person with whom Christ identifies himself, I should look at him with love. "
Concluding the considerations of Fr. Kumala encouraged people to serve other people in imitation of the Mother of God. - “Let him guide us every day to find peace of heart and joy in life, which is all the more beautiful the more love there is in it. Let us not be afraid to accept Jesus Christ as the King of our lives. "
Before the end of the solemn Holy Mass, Fr. Janusz Kumala, MIC, read the Act of Dedication of the Human Family to Christ the King.
During today's Eucharist, St. Cecilia, patron of organists and church music, whose celebration is held on Monday, November 22. In connection with the above, wishes to the choir of the lichen basilica „Stabat Mater”, which added splendor to the Sunday sum, the curator wished that "singing to God would be fruitful, bring you closer to Him and bring a lot of spiritual joy".
