The Sunday of the Word of God in the Licheń sanctuary was an occasion to ask myself whether I am fulfilling the words of Christ? The 4th Family Day of Grandma and Grandpa was also celebrated in the sanctuary.
Southern Mass. was chaired by Fr. Janusz Kumala, MIC, the curator of the Lichen sanctuary, who recalled in his homily that the Word of God is not literature, but the presence, a revelation of God. He encouraged him to accompany pilgrims on a daily basis. Regarding the mass readings, he emphasized that we can listen, but not believe Christ, that only He brings the grace that can change everyday life. This is the greatest tragedy for baptized people. - Only in the church do we hear about eternal happiness. It is important that we constantly revive our faith - he said.
The second reading emphasizes, in turn, that everyone plays an important role in the Church, also in society and, above all, in his family. - Today, on Grandpa and Grandma's Day, we want to say that these people are extremely important. Not so much because they give something, but above all because they love. Let us discover this presence of grandparents so that they feel loved and needed. Let us learn to accept love through them. Often the elders are pushed out of the family circle - there is no time to visit them. They experience loneliness that hurts. It is important to express gratitude to them every day and to care for them - said the curator of the Lichen sanctuary.
