Young volunteer firefighters who took part in the National Sports and Fire Competition in Licheń and Konin prayed in front of the Miraculous Picture of Our Lady of Licheń on Sunday morning.
Holy Mass in the Licheń temple was presided over by Fr. Adam Stankiewicz, MIC, vice-curator of the sanctuary. In the homily, the priest noted, referring to the Gospel according to St. Mark that it is not what a person feeds on him that makes him unclean, but what comes from him.
Marianin also wondered what the difference was between listening to God and actually hearing God's voice.
– “We listen to God, but do we want to hear Him? How often do we read the Scriptures at home? God gives us His Word so that we live prudently every day. However, sometimes we try to interpret God's commandments in our own way to make life easier for us ".
According to the priest, God gives us His Word so that we can grow stronger thanks to Him. -“The ten commandments of God contain the law of love towards God and neighbor. Let us also look at Mary, who is always open to God and His Word " The priest concluded.
The musical setting for the Eucharist was provided by the Brass Band of the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Słupca under the direction of Mr. Jan Jasiński.
The organizer of the National Sports and Fire Competition in Licheń and Konin was the Union of Volunteer Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland with the participation of the State Fire Service. The honorary patronage over the event, which lasted from August 31 to September 2, was held by the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Province, Marek Woźniak.
