The 35th Gdynia Walking Pilgrimage to Jasna Góra Monastery has reached Lichen
On the evening of August 4, 2020, the group of the 35th Gdynia Walking Pilgrimage to Jasna Góra Monastery reached the Licheń sanctuary. In a reduced number of 50 people, they stood in front of the Miraculous Picture of Our Lady of Licheń.
The next morning they were joined by the 38th Walking Pilgrimage from Gdańsk, numbering 80 people.
The gathered people were greeted by Fr. Adam Stankiewicz, MIC, vice-curator of the sanctuary. In the words addressed to the pilgrims, the priest mentioned that a pilgrimage was always a hardship, but filled with joy for Christ and His Mother.
Both groups took part in the Holy Mass. at 8.30 am celebrated in the Licheń basilica.
The guides of both pilgrimages, both Fr. Krzysztof Czaja and Fr. Łukasz Grelewicz agreed that they could not imagine not visiting Our Lady of Licheń on the way to Our Lady of Częstochowa. Both priests were happy that their groups could participate in the Holy Mass together. celebrated in a Licheń sanctuary.
Pilgrims have to cover almost 500 km. The next opportunity to meet them will be on August 12, when they will go to Jasna Góra Monastery together.
