At night, from Powidz to Licheń
Parishioners from St. Nicholas in Powidz, for the first time, they crossed the extreme way of the cross from Powidz to the Licheń sanctuary. They traveled 41 kilometers carrying the intention of peace for the world in front of the miraculous painting of Our Lady of Sorrows.
The pilgrims left Powidz after the Holy Mass. at. 19.00. They walked the trail all night long. The pilgrims were accompanied by prayers: rosary and meditation on the way of the cross. - This year, the main theme of the Extreme Way of the Cross is reconciliation, peace and healing of interpersonal relations in the family and in the parish community. We set off for the first time and I think it will not be the last - says Marcin Maciejewski, the spiritual guardian of pilgrims.
Andrzej of Powidz, who belongs to the community of Mary's Warriors, went primarily with the intention of ending the war in Ukraine. "I think these spiritual experiences will stay with me for a long time," he said. The pilgrims ended the service with the Holy Mass. in the chapel of St. St. Papczyński in the lower basilica.
