SANKTUARIUM MATKI BOŻEJ LICHEŃSKIEJ BOLESNEJ KRÓLOWEJ POLSKI

Day of prayers for men and fathers of families

Today in our sanctuary we have celebrated the Day of Prayers through the intercession of St. Joseph for men and family fathers, that they may be strengthened by the word of God and the example of St. Józefa courageously took up their duties. Pilgrims also remembered about war-martyred husbands and fathers from Ukraine.

Every war comes from the human heart, and peace also comes from the human heart. A heart overwhelmed by hatred begins to kill everyone around, and a heart overwhelmed by love brings peace. (...) What to do to stop the war, to persevere on the way of life and vocation? The only way is a changed heart, and the Sunday Gospel according to St. Luke. An evangelist in the story of the Transfiguration on Mount Tabor gives a clue. The first step is to let Christ take us with him. The second is to make an effort, to climb Mount Tabor - we must make the effort to pursue holiness. Another is entering the space of transformation in prayer, this is when God cleans our hearts, touches us with love. It is not about praying briefly during the day, but being in love with God. The disciples accompanying Christ, although drowsy with sleep, were engulfed in a cloud and heard the voice of God.

The celebrant emphasized that the faithful hear God's voice in the churches. - This is where the Son is truly present. In a moment there will be a transformation, a transformation. The more faith and love we have, the greater the chance we have to participate in His presence. Today let us take Jesus into our hearts, to live with him everyday life, transformed in such a way, to share Christ with others. Let us pray that wars will cease and there will be peace in our families. "Queen of Poland, give peace to our days" - summed up Fr. Kumala. He encouraged solidarity and specific gestures of concern towards the people of Ukraine.
Prayer for men and fathers to St. Joseph:

Saint Joseph, to whose loving care God entrusted his only-begotten Son and his most chaste mother, Mary, we entrust to you the vocation of men and fathers in life.
Guide them on the difficult paths of life and lead them and those for whom they are responsible on a straight path to Jesus and Mary.
Beg for them the grace of pure, disinterested love for those whom God entrusted to their care and for all whom he places on their paths in life, so that, looking at the example of your holy life, they may always be noble, righteous and capable of sacrifice.
Ask them for the grace of strong, steadfast faith, that they may fulfill the holy will of the Heavenly Father in everything and be an example of faithfulness and service to their loved ones. Help them fight the temptations of the world and endure every cross that comes across them patiently. Teach them humility and obedience.
Watch over them and their whole family, as you watched faithfully over Jesus and Mary. And plead for eternal salvation for them and for all of us, that we may meet one day in eternal glory.
Amen.
