Day of prayers for women - for fulfilling the mission of protecting life

Today, thanks for the woman and her mission in the human community, in the Lichen basilica. Ukrainian women in need of support and help were also prayed for.

Today we want to pray for women in a special way. Today they have the face of Ukrainian women. They give us a sign of the victory of love over hate, good over evil. They show the essence of what it means to be a woman, a man. They leave their homes in a hurry to save their children. In great exhaustion, pain and fear, they run away to save their children's lives and theirs. They are women who protect life when husbands, fathers and brothers defend their homeland. This is the first vocation of a woman who accepts life and cares for it in order to save it. A task that makes the world exist and allows us to look to the future.

Traditionally, on the Sunday preceding March 8, Women's Day, a women's day of prayers was held at the Licheń sanctuary.
"Every war is a victory for the devil," Fr. Janusz Kumala, MIC, curator of the sanctuary. “The devil turned away from Jesus after being tempted, but he is still at war with everyone. This is the nature of the one who divides, lies, destroys, hates God and man and wants to destroy him for eternity ...
the devil has already failed. He's already lost. The victor is Jesus Christ, who, through his death and resurrection, destroyed the power of the devil and destroyed evil, ”added the Marian. “We see glimpses of the coming victory - good that is born despite pain, evil and hatred. Which manifests itself all over the world, it is a sign of an impending win. Good always conquers bad! We do not understand evil, many questions arise within us, and the only answer is Jesus Christ, the Overcomer. "

During the liturgy in the sanctuary, people prayed in solidarity with the people of Ukraine for an end to the war and for peace, commanding all the fallen to God's mercy. The victims collected last Sunday in the basilica were handed over to those in need in Ukraine through Caritas Polska, and the Licheń sanctuary cooperates with the Voivode of Greater Poland in the field of receiving refugees. The Congregation of Marian Fathers serves in five parishes in Ukraine: in Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky, Mohylów Podolski, Chernivtsi and Gródek, where so far the monks have decided to stay despite the difficult situation.
