This morning, August 5, she arrived at the Licheń sanctuary, the 39th Gdańsk Walking Pilgrimage to Jasna Góra Monastery. Shortly after 8.00 a.m., in front of the Lichen basilica, the pilgrims were welcomed and blessed by Fr. Adam Stankiewicz, vice-custodian of the sanctuary.
A group of 120 pilgrims took part in the Holy Mass. celebrated in front of the Miraculous Image of Our Lady of Lichen at 8.30. This year's expedition, in the year of St. Józefa, is held under the slogan "Gathered at the Holy Supper".
Among the pilgrims to Jasna Góra, there is a married couple - Mrs. Dorota and Mr. Zenon, parents of seven children. However, they went on the trail with four, of which the youngest is only 4 years old. As they say, making a pilgrimage with children, especially small ones, is a real challenge - “During the pilgrimage with children, we experience this effort even more. In addition to the hardships of the road, we also take care of children, thanks to which we have no time to think about sore feet. We can then focus not only on ourselves, but on another person, and sacrifice ourselves for them. We don't think it is a pain to take our children on such a journey. You could say it's a blessing. "
During 16 days of hiking, pilgrims have to cover 500 km. They will reach Jasna Góra Monastery in exactly one week, on Thursday, August 12.
