It was for the 33rd time that a pilgrimage from Dąby Szlacheckie on foot reached the Licheń sanctuary. August 28
In the 1980s, three parishioners went on the pilgrimage route leading to the Mother of God and thus initiated the tradition of pilgrimage from the parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary to the Sorrowful Queen of Poland. This year, for a retreat on the way under the supervision of Fr. Paweł Robak, vicar of the parish, about a hundred people went.
Mr. Marek from the parish in Dąby Szlacheckie has been a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Lichen since he was a child. Later, his wife Magda and sons Wojtek and Tymon joined him. - We try our whole life in the hands of Mary. We live next door, we often visit the sanctuary, we feel a natural attraction. We make a pilgrimage at least once a year on foot, because at least in this way we can repay everything we get. My wife and I try to pass on Marian spirituality to our children, says Marek from the Dęby Szlacheckie parish. Thirteen-year-old Wojtek has already made a pilgrimage six times, and the youngest son, seven, for two years. - I treat the pilgrimage as sealing the whole year. It is important to maintain and nurture this tradition. We are aware of the presence of the Mother of God in our family. This year we also entrusted ourselves to the Holy Family, we invited guests to our house - says Mr. Marek. He adds that trust must be constantly fondled.
The pilgrims pray the Rosary and sing songs in a family atmosphere. The 20-kilometer route passes quickly for Mikołaj Michalak, altar boy and pilgrim. - When I pray to Our Lady of Lichen, everything goes well. She is very helpful - she says.
The pilgrims were greeted by Fr. Adam Stankiewicz, MIC, vice-custodian of the Licheń sanctuary, and participated in the noon Mass. in front of the Miraculous Picture of Our Lady of Lichen in the basilica.
