Traditionally, around the anniversary of Karol Wojtyła's election as pope, students, teachers and employees Primary School Pope John Paul II in Wysokie (commune of Kramsk) they came to the Licheń sanctuary. On a pilgrimage, the school community honors its patron saint, praying in the place where the Polish Pope stayed 22 years ago during his 7th pilgrimage to Poland.
At the beginning of the Mass, on behalf of the Marian priests and brothers, the pilgrims were welcomed by Fr. Adam Stankiewicz, MIC, vice-custodian of the Lichen sanctuary. He thanked for persistence in the annual pilgrimage and encouraged them to pray together. "Invoke the intercession of the Pope, St. John Paul II, so that he would accompany you and ask God for the necessary favors. "
Holy Mass was chaired by Fr. Wiktor Ignaczak, vicar of the parish of st. Stanisław BM in Kramsk. In the homily, he spoke about the symbols through which God speaks to us. He pointed to the Licheń basilica, which is built on a cross plan; to the Gospel in which Christ invites us to work with perseverance and to live the truth, and to our common and active commitment to the liturgy. Finishing his considerations, he said that "whenever another person comes to us, Christ comes to us."
After the homily for the Primary School Pope John Paul II was awarded the Medal of St. John Paul II awarded by the Association "The Memory of John Paul II" - Social Documentation Center of the Pontificate of John Paul II. On behalf of the chapter, the decoration was pinned to the school banner by Fr. Wiktor Ignaczak. A moment later, medals on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Karol Wojtyła's birthday were awarded to people who had a significant contribution to the activities of the facility: Mr. Andrzej Nowak, the mayor of the Kramsk commune, a long-term director of the Primary School and the Pope John Paul II in Wysokie, Mrs. Genowefa Samorzewska, director - retired Primary School and Mrs. Elżbieta Bryl - the current director of the facility.
