On this special day for the Marian Congregation of the Eucharist, Fr. Dr. Tomasz Nowaczek, MIC, Provincial Superior. The concelebration was attended, among others, by provincial councilors who today debated in Licheń. Among them were: Fr. Sławomir Homoncik, MIC - Deputy Superior, Fr. Janusz Kumala, MIC - 2nd provincial councilor and custodian of the Lichen sanctuary, Fr. Piotr Kieniewicz, MIC - secretary of the Province and Fr. Bogusław Binda, MIC - superior of the Lichen religious house of the Congregation of Marian Fathers.
The dissolution of orders in the Russian partition in 1864, introduced by the tsarist decree, prevented the admission of new candidates to monastic congregations, including the Marians, which in turn was to result in the spontaneous closure of monasteries within years. However, according to Fr. Kumali, God was watching over the Marians. - "Then the Lord God sent Fr. Jerzy Matulewicz, MIC, Lithuanian, Blessed today, who entered our Congregation, renewed it, reformed it and gave it new dynamism, ”added the custodian of the Lichen sanctuary.
In the homily of Fr. Dr. Tomasz Nowaczek, MIC, wondered, referring to today's Gospel according to St. Mark about the beheading of John the Baptist, who from sins, nesting in the heart, is the sorrow of Mary, the Sorrowful Queen of Poland, venerated in the lichen image. - “What is my sin that takes away my joy in life? We, Marian Fathers, pose this question to ourselves. You are special guests at this place. We were taken in by Our Lady of Lichen, most probably because we are weak and meager and we are very fragile; and like no one in this basilica, we need the support of her Son, to give us the Holy Spirit, to adhere well to the truth about his life, to gain the courage to say that He saves my life. And we ask Mary to show us this continually, ”said the Marian.
Support me in Christ with the gift of the Holy Spirit, so that I can boldly speak where the path of my conversion begins, where my understanding begins, that my life is not a mistake but is beautiful, that I am endowed with many gifts that keeping only for myself has the nature of the sin of neglect
The Congregation of Marian Fathers is the oldest Polish religious congregation that exists until the present day. St. Father Stanisław Papczyński in 1670. They carry out their pastoral ministry in 19 countries around the world, with over 500 priests and brothers gathered in 80 communities. Marians from the Divine Providence Province, including Poland, Germany, England, Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Czech Vicariate, are involved in various activities: from parish and missionary work, to service in sanctuaries, research and publishing. All this in accordance with the slogan: "For Christ and the Church."

On August 29, 1909, Bl. Jerzy Matulewicz renewed the Congregation, thanks to which it has survived to modern times.
